Crossmember removal with torsion bar

I have a 2004 Ranger Edge 5 speed manual, and wanted to see if all I need to do to pull the transmission to replace the slave cylinder is remove the 6 side bolts for the cross member, or is there anything I have to do with the torsion bar suspension to remove the cross-member?

Also, Since I have the 3" lift, I am also going to try to change the oil pan gasket with a OS 30712 R Fel-Pro gasket that I have since it is a slow leak, and I already have it, or should I use RTV instead to guarantee it will be leak free?

Thanks.
