Cv axle play LOTS OF IT

Hey guys new to ranger forums, but my 99 ranger 4x4 cv axles have about 2 inches of play, there NOT live axles and I have no idea how to fix it. It has a brand new wheel bearing plus hub assembly, cv axle and brand new manual rugged ridge lockers, and it has a metal ring around the outer shaft on the back side of the spindle that I thought helps hold the cv in but it doesn't, it's about a month old and is completely cracked. also it is the pulse vacuum hub that originally came on the truck. If y'all can help please!
Thanks
Nolan

Man... that just sounds like you need to do a complete front end rebuild. Go through piece by piece. No need to replace functioning parts, but be sure to check each and every part.

did you remember to install the cv shaft retention clip

it slides along the the splined shaft inside the bore of the bearing and clips into a groove to hold the axle shaft inside the bearing
