eird 8.8 axle behavior

Hey guys,

On my truck I have 8.8'' open 4.10 (axle code 97).

I've noticed that although being an Open diff, my 2 wheels do lock up in snowy conditions?

Is this normal?

The one with least resistance spins, if both have the same resistance, or lack there of, they will be together
