few minor issues with tranny

few minor issues with tranny
this has been going on for a while, but isnt a serious thing.
whenever i shift into 1st, i either have to wiggle the stick around until it goes up or just ram it into first (which i dont do unless the first option isnt working).
going to 2nd is a little rough, but it goes in, and 3rd and up are fine.
when i go into reverse however, it will grind and wont go in unless i put it into 1st and then go back (which i dont understand, its not like the clutch pedal isnt pushed all the way in)
what would i have to do/buy to fix this?
