Ford 9.75

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I did not find anything with the search. Does anyone know if the Ford 9.75 tone ring will work with the Ranger OBDII electronics? I am assuming that it will since this is a common swap for the older F150's running an 8.8. I am looking for a full sized axle for my prerunner project and this seems to be a good candidate. I know that I will have to shorten my drive shaft 1.5" and will need to redrill the axles to 5 on 4.5 to match my front bolt pattern. Does anyone else have experience with this axle? It is supposed to be roughly equivalent to a Dana 60.

The 9.75 is a pretty strong axle, comparable to the D60. There are some stats at the bottom of the last page...

I'm not 100% sure if it will work for the speedo or not, but I think believe the 9.75 has a VSS like the 8.8. Hopefully someone else will have a real answer for you, lol.

If I'm not mistaken, it uses the same sensor as the 8.8, so you should be fine, just swap your old sensor into the new axle.

you need to count the number of teeth on the reluctor ring in the 9.75 (8.8 has 106 i think) and program it into the gem module with NGS for your speedo to be accurate

the earlier (approx 9th gen, 93-97) 3.4 and 1tons had 10.25 only available with drums. when they started the 10.5 they went to disc
