Found a ZF - 5
Found a ZF - 5
What do I need to get it in, I have a 4.0 and it's coming from behind a 351w bronco.
Getting tranny, shifter, transfer case, and shifter for it.
I'm coming from auto so I will need clutch pedal, master, slave, lines, clutch, flywheel, and do I need a bell housing to make it work?
Let me know, thanks,
T

Your right - was misinformed it is from behind a diesel - and I know it comes with a bellhousing but wasnt' sure it would bolt up, and I can't find a custom bellhousing for bolting up to the 4.0.
Just looking for guidance - I'm getting this for a steal if I pull the trigger on it and can have it this weekend......
Issues that you may have to overcome:
- The ZF bellhousing is cast as part of the transmission case, not separate. There's no hope of the diesel bolt pattern coming anywhere near fitting the 4.0L (or even a 5.0L) block.
- The case is much too large to fit under a Ranger without a body lift.
- The shifter will likely be several inches too far forward for a Ranger - custom shifter needed.
- Clutch/flywheel would probably need to be pieced together to get the correct spline count for the disc and the correct bolt pattern for the 4.0 crank.

but if you look at the bigger picture $1100.00 for a custom made bell housing for a ford 4.0 l is actually pretty cheap.
considering that advance adapters has never made that particular bell housing adapter before.
and you will need a body lift to fit that tall transmission underneath the ranger body
