All you can really do is pump out what you can and pump new stuff in.

All you have to do is stick the hose through the fill hole. Then to fill it back up just pump it in there until it starts coming out.

You know the standard gear pumps? Little plastic jobby yous crew on? Stick the part that goes down into the bottle, into your front diff. Pump out what you can, give it a little cleaning.. then set it up like you woudl on a clean jug of tranny fluid and go at it.. =)

You can also get a "suction pump" at NAPA. Looks like a grease gun with a clear tube on the end. Big piston attached to a long rod and handle sucks the stuff out a pint or so at a time.

I'd open it up and clean out any hydrated by-products that might be stuck around inside -- but that's just me.

If you didn't have to take diff out then I would.

only takes about 20mins to get a front diff out of the truck w/o a suspension lift in the way.
while you have it out, drill a hole in the bottom and tap it for a plug. makes fluid changes even faster.

I remember seeing someone do that. I believe they used a drain bolt for a motorcycle oil pan. I would have a shop drill the hole though.
