Icon5 FRONT DRIVESHAFT? Help

One day coming off the trail onto the highway i hear this awful "POPPING" sound. To me it sounds like the front drive shaft is binding up and iv been told its the transfer case but when i take took the front dirve shaft out out the sound completely went away. So iv been a poser:( for like 6 months now i paid to get the transfer case rebuilt and that wasnt it.

(4in sus lift and the drive shaft was new and longer and 4 months old when the sound popped up) Please help and let me know if u have had this problem to

If you're still running the stock driveshaft with a 4" lift, then it's shot, and it's a known problem. The cure is a driveshaft with a double-carden joint instead of the stock CV joint. Superlift makes them.

I bought the superlift drive shaft when i got the lift and that shaft was NOT cheap. Im not to technically advanced yet but im learning and hearing about a double carden shaft is something i will have to look into. But you all think its def the drive shaft? That was my guess but flippin mechanics swore it was the transfer case

ok so you have the superlift driveshaft, and had it installed when this noise showed up. You pulled the shaft out, and noise went away. YOu've had the t-case rebuilt. How bout the ujoints on the shaft? Are they in good shape. By doing process of elimination you can narrow it down. How bout your outer hubs? I would check everything that TURNS when you have 4wd engaged. CV shafts, hubs, front diff, t-case.

Ya if those are my choices on what it could be than it has to be the drive shaft cause i know everyhthing else is ok. I took it to ford and EVERYTHING checked accept the t case cause they said it would be cheaper to just replace it than tear it apart. (re-re's)

90% of the people who have a suspension lift have a superlift shaft or custom shaft.

The other 10% will eventually get one as well because the stock shaft WILL go out

and to the OP, did you ever grease your superlift shaft?

It is just as good as the superlift shaft and cheaper you just have to deal with finding the parts and knowing of a good driveline shop
