i have a 98 4x4 with the 4.0. today i started hearing a humming noise from the front end. i'm thinking wheel bearing, but not sure. any advice would be great.

Maybe its your tire, what kind of tires, whats the tread wear like.

if its the wheel bearing be careful when it goes there goes ur tire mine came off my truck twice.welcome.

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong:

To tell if its the wheel bearing or not, jack your truck up by the frame, and see if you can wiggle the wheel up and down, back and forth. Or maybe that if for ball joints?

 

Thanks guys. I put my truck up on jack stands today and found out that my front passenger tire wont spin at all unless i start it up and give it gas. $238.43 later and i'm waiting on the whole hub, since you cant buy just the bearing.
