take the wheel off make sure your CV boot is good..no grease thrown anywhere..

make sure your caliper bolts are tight..and your caliper isnt frozen shut..

zabeard 02-07-2007 06:18 PM

um you dont have a limited slip in the front... therefor both of the front wheels are not going to spin...

i dont see and issue or hear anyhting?

ranger024x4 02-07-2007 06:20 PM

maybe a wheelbearing?

ranger024x4 02-07-2007 06:22 PM

Sonic_03 02-07-2007 06:46 PM

haha man you have an OPEN front diff...only a pinion and some gears that left front wont spin..

BUT with no weight on the bastard it should spin backwards..id say grab the front CV and just pul on er..does it move? rattle? anything? and id she ahs lots of play id be rippen the diff out and takin the cover off..might have something wrong in the pionion or mini axle

ID ALSO be careful doing it but try and spin it while the rest are..it if grabs and goes backwards well it should be ok..

Spin the good one forwards when locked in 4x4 and the engine off..then run over to the other side see if its going backwards

I had the same problem, turned out to be the universal. Replaced that and it started clunking worse. Turns out that when I put them back together, rotated the one shaft a 1/4 turn and threw it out of balance.

it has spun before on that wheel in 4wd.....iam no hearing the clunking noise either but it was doing it rilling about 5mph in front of walmart....

zabeard 02-07-2007 09:13 PM

it something suspension wise then.

ball joints? CVs shouldnt clunk, maybe if you hammered on it while the wheel was turned full lock. then they would pop

im thinking ball joints maybe inner tierods.

i had all ball joints/wheel bearings checked and all are good......

Sonic_03 02-07-2007 09:16 PM

can you feel it in the floor? and does it only do it when drving slow? or at all speeds?

zabeard 02-07-2007 09:17 PM

grab the front driveshaft and wiggle it around see if it has slop in it. same with the cvs.

were you even in 4wd in the parking lot?

SteveOh 02-07-2007 09:18 PM

SteveOh 02-07-2007 09:26 PM

Well the driveshaft makes alot of noise when you wiggle it and that may be what iam hearing........the front cv's are nice and firm...make a little noise but not much.....

01rangerbigfoot 02-08-2007 10:50 AM

Wow i dont know man i would say shake down your front end real good see if u hear anything from upper balljoints lowers ones, but also see if theres any play in it. Good luck
