front stud nut needs replaced
front stud nut needs replaced
I need help by putting in longer stud nuts into OEM rotors that I recently purchased.
Here's what happened ... My two stud nuts broke off on me due to improper torqued specification and I replaced all rear stud nuts with 3" morso racing ones on both sides and properly torqued them to correct specs ... HOPEFULLY they don't break this time!
Now, What can be done to have that installed for front rotors with fins interfered in it's way?
here's attached pictures in this thread
any ideas are very appreciated and thank you!

Well I didnt think about those fins if it removable to allow replacement for any stud nuts to installed as long they're right size ... if its removable fins ... how can the fins be removed and installed?
That is the exciter ring for the ABS. Does your truck have 4 wheel abs?
If not you can pry it out & chuck it.
The best way to remove it without damage is to use the wheel studs. Push them out till the're loose, then use them to push on the ring till it pops off.
even if you warp it a little, it's soft enough to flatten out & re-install.

I do believes that my truck only have 2 wheel abs system in front only and okay thank you for your suggestion so I can get this going and done over with front brake replacement and she'll be back on the road :)
Thank you for your help
Thank you for your help
well i figured out how to exchanged stud nuts for front rotors. I pressed out three of stud nuts on old rotor as test ... they cause the exciter ring to pop off and there I have my answer.
So I will go ahead and replaced all the stud nuts on my new rotors with longer ones then press exciter ring back onto new rotor and off I go :)
Thank you for all your help!

Well i ran into issue when I pressed in the new stud nuts with Moroso racing stud of Knurl .563 dia. I have to ream all the holes in between .554 to .561" dia.
What's the recommendation ream tool for this job? .558 reamer? Will it provide a good grip with the knurl?
and also is it safe to use the rotor as is in the pic attached? I hate to discard it and order new one and start over again!
any suggestions? and thank you
Here's pic of mistake I did ...
