My buddy was talking to me about putting a manual Valve body in the tranny of this gmc with a 454 and 35s he is tired of the clutch when off road. well im thinking of swapping a whole f150 drive line 5.0 with a c6 and manual tcase. sometime this summer or next.


I was wondering if anyone has driven one or has any info or anything like that.

i wouldnt recomend a man. valve body for a daily driven vehicle. its alot of shifting for no reason. alot of race vehicles run man valve bodys to control wheel spin, torque curves etc. not really much benefit of this mod unless you spend 99% off road. i had this mod in my class 8 truck. it was perfect for that application, but i personally dont see any benefit in your case. just my 2 cents.

 

my truck isnt a dd and i like to shift but when im off road i would like to be able to do it with out the clutch

 

valve bodys are in AUTOMATICS! just to be clear. How your friend is tired of the clutch on a manual truck and he's adding a valve body is beyond me! Sounds like your friend is an idiot.







Valve bodys are the brains of an automatic transmission(old school.....new school it's all computer and brain). A manual valve body does not allow trans to shift on it's own....you must shift it yourself....thus making it basically a manual w/o a clutch w/o ability to put it Drive and let it shift itsself. They control traction and transoutput and shiftpoints(the drive does that by shifting) My Chevy is set up like that with it's 475hp 406sbc and TH400. manual valve body, a nice quarter stick shifter, sticky tires, and 500+hp on tap = neck snapping better than sex feeling.



you dont want it in a lifted truck. it's a 'gofast' item.
