Gear Change Clunk

I would first check the play in the gears. Are you sure its not just the slip yoke banging?

Do a search for "slap bump". I'm having a feeling you're suffering from the shaft not having proper lube on the slip joint.

i honestly dont know if its the slip yoke banging or how to check to see if that is lol. how would i go about doing that. nd thanks ill search it when i get home from work. idk if this helps but if i rev alil extra between shifts and left off the clutch ridiculously easy it usually wont do it. but when i do this its way to slow for a good shift i just do it when i can like no1 behind me and doesnt matter how fast i speed up. but wouldthis help narrow it down.

i was reading that thread on it, and is my 06 a one piece or 2 pice, because I think I read if its a one piece than you have to do something different, and if I can just do the method that the thread shown is it better to take it off and use what the ford tsb said that the one guy was talking about, or will it be just fine to do how it says in the thread to just fill the sleeve up with grease from local store.

so what does this mean for my problem or how to grease the skip yoke and all that. also I literally feel this coming from the rear end when pushing in and letting off the clutch. do you think the slip yolk not being greased good is still the problem because the slip yolk is all the way up by the transfer case so the sound is def not coming from that area.

Hey gary1959,

It has been four years since this post was alive.

Not saying the project isn't done but thinking along that lines, ask me I know about LONG term projects.

Search the site for other threads along this subject, then if you find nothing... start a new thread and ask the question all over again.

Luck,
