Good price? (exlporer axle)

so i really want to get an explorer axle with disc brakes, 31 spline axles and maybe a limited slip for my ranger, found one for 300 dollars, has 65K on it, out of a 2000 explorer, new seals, good bearings, need brake lines, calipers, and rotors, is this a good deal? i'd like to offer him 200 or 250 since it doesn't come with brakes, let me know what you think

I got mine for $256 and that included everything it needed (except for the perches, shock mounts, and the brake line going from the hard line to the the axle which they cut but it was $20 so I'm not to worried) I did the swap already and it wasn't hard at all. Its very nice and you can feel the difference in braking. the only thing is that I can't power brake my truck anymore because the rear disk brakes grab so much and with two tires spinning and 31" BFG A/T its a lot working against me. I can burn out and leave some nice strips and I can do donuts and such but its just to much to power brake but I guess that helps me save my tires.

good thing i don't do a lot of burnouts, my motor doesn't have the ***** to spin my 31s anyway, another quick question: spring perches and shock mounts have to be changed also, correct?

I got one with out brakes, perches, shock tabs, and calipers for $375. But it does have a locker and 4.56 gears. I know of one JY that charges $100-150 for an axle and another that charges $45. But you have to get them out yourself.

Just saw you are from Pennington. The JY that has them for $45 is in Morrisville, PA just over the border from trenton. Prolly wouldn't take you too long to get there. PM me if you want more info about it.

$300 seems high to me. I'd offer about $200 cash and that's about it.

well the junk yard I got mine from tests all the parts that they take out (I don't have to pull it) and makes sure they work. Its a nice clean junk yard so I'd rather pay a little more for something I know will work.

Back in Ohio I got explorer axles for $100 complete. Here in Utah, there is a JY I can get axles from for $120 complete.

$300 is high, but it depends on how much searching you do first to see how cheap you can find them.

A completely stripped axle tube probly wouldn't be bad, but a complete one is pretty beefy. It would be alot.

PM sent.

A complete axle would prolly have to be freight shipped. It depends on the company you would use I would guess any where from 100-200 for shipping on a complete axle.
