well i got stuck on some ice and so i sat there spinning my tires for about 2 mins getting it up pretty fast too lol, got it to almost 70 w/o relizing it... so then i backed up to a spot with no ice and gunned it up the incline over the ice... so my tires broke loose and i spun my way up the hill then when i hit the top of the hill and my tires caught i burned out for a second then my car jsut shut off...

no idiot lights are on now though when i restarted it so my first guess of the abs doing something seemed kinda farfetched but it may still be?

it drove fine for the rest of the night so i dunno what happend... is this good? cuz i only have 6 more days on my warrenty and i cant go in on xmas so only 5....

 

If no CEL lights are on, i wouldn't worry bout it but spinning the tires at 70 probably isn't a good idea for the future.

 

The sudden stop of the tires can cause the engine to stall. The sudden stop slows the drivetrain and engine down so it could keep the engine running. Its probably ok just dont make a regular thing of it.

 

yea it wasnt on purpose i was just stuck and i had to keep the gas down inorder to keep moving... limited slip doesnt help to much on ice...

 

how much gas you have?.. just a thought hehe.. a jolt coulg slosh gas

 

be smart. take to dealer, tell em it "just stalled for no apparent reason going up a hill" dont tell em u were doing burnouts =) have them check it over to make sure it ok, u dont wanna get stuck with a $1000 bill in a week.

 

not good for so many many parts of your truck

 

your transmission was prolly in a higher gear with no traction then it hit the pavement with full traction and it died, not different than a manual and trying to start out in a high gear.

i did this a few times but it was in 4x4 and i was pulling out a shrub, when the strap stretched all it could it pulled my truck back causeing a sudden change in direction, which resulted in my truck dieing.
i wouldnt worry about it.

 

Yea my truck stalled in 4wd too one day, i was like "what the hell, how did i stall an automatic?" but when your tires are spinning, i dont think the speedo is correct, because it jumps all over the place, when i had my car and did burnouts, it jumped to 110 and bounced off the stopper at 135

Last I hear the speedo was connected to the VSS line, which is connected to a sensor on the tail section of your transmission. So the speedometer should indicate how fast the transmission and driveshaft are spinning.

It likely 'jumps around' a lot because there is very little resistance to the powertrain, unlike when you have traction, where the weight of the vehicle acts as a 3000 lbs damper..

Of course all bets are off w/ your old car and the bouncing off the stopper behavior.
No, and not much other than super sticky or studded tires will do much really..
