Any help appreciated: 04' Ranger XLT 113k miles, auto trans, just replaced front hubs, pads/rotors. I still have a grinding sound (sometimes but getting more frequent). I am thinking it's either:
-transmission (no maintenance ever done to it)
-U-joints
-Rear bearings

I've had probs with the rear drums, replaced them, etc. and this doens't sound or feel like that. Actually I can't hear much of anything at all....just a low grind that you mostly feel in your feet.

If anyone has insight into how to diagnose (or other possible problems) it would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

 

Go under you truck and shake your drive shaft, it shouldn't be able to move. If there's play you u joints are bad, and if its your u joints grinding you might want to get them fixed because your ujoint breaks.
