The hoses and soft bits are showing their age on my 1999's 3.0 Vulcan.
The intake tube cracked on me while replacing the air filter last week, at least it was easily sourced and replaced.
But now I've noticed some other hoses that have a not-so-fresh appearance.
The one I'm most concerned about now is I think a vacuum line that comes out of the bottom of the intake manifold, runs through a plastic elbow with a tab on it,
and goes into a loom with a mess of hoses/wires over near the fender on the driver's side of the engine bay.
I showed these pictures to the guy at the Ford dealer parts desk but he couldn't get a bead on it in his diagrams.
I think I can easily replace the length from the manifold to the elbow with just a length of any old vacuum hose, but it would probably be better to replace the whole length if I can.
Anyone have any idea what this does? Or what its part number might be?
This is probably just a taste of things headed my way, and it looks like I might soon be chasing a whole host of vacuum leaks.
If anyone can recommend a kit or parts pack or guide to finding and replacing the vacuum lines on a 3.0, I'd much appreciate any pointers.
