I could use some help - my son has a 2003 FX4 Level II - manual trans, manual txfr. His drive shaft broke while driving and it consequently broke the case of his transmission (and possibly the t-case as well) so we'll be replacing most of the dirvetrain. Problem is - I can't read the tag on (whats left of) the drive shaft and the tag is gone on the transmission. I've tried working with two Ford dealerships for part numbers and they won't help me because "they don't make money looking up parts". If anyone could help me with part numbers for the transmission and drive shaft I'd be most grateful. I've done some research online but I just don't want to order the wrong assemblies - shipping back and forth is too expensive. Any other tips would be appreciated too - I've never replaced a tranny but here goes! Should we replace the front drive shaft while we're at it? Thanks for the help as always.
