Icon8 Help with pilot bearing

I have a 92 Ranger with a double 4 engine. It is now sitting in my apartment complex parking lot with the drive shaft, transmission, clutch and flywheel all taken out of it. Here is my problem. The pilot bearing blew up in the crankshaft housing and now all that is left of it is the outer core. I have tried renting a puller to remove it, I have tried putting wet paper in the crankshaft housing trying to force it out with water and pressure. But it is like the thing is welded to the housing. Any suggestions on how to remove the thing so I can work on getting it all put back together?

Patience and a small cold chisel. Someone also makes pilot bearing removal tool that gets wedged into the pilot bore w/ a hammer and filled w/ grease through a zerk. Sort of like your wet newspaper trick, only it works, haha. You might check your local auto parts store, other wise i think summit sells them. Just to get this done quick though, I'd stick w/ the chisel. I was able to use a slide hammer on mine

Maybe cut it and use a punch/chisel and start peeling it out. Or pull the fly wheel and get it on a solid surface and beat it out. (never pulled the fly wheel on mine, I assume you can push it out the other side) I just used a puller from AutoZone, $15 deposit, that attached to a slide hammer, mine was stuck too.
