Looks like I get you join you and the others on dead clutches. Everything was fine yesterday. Came home from school at 4 and stayed home. Get up this morning, leaving for work...It would appear my clutch/cylinder is shot. I can get engine to kick over, but can't get a gear. Clutch is soft, but not soft like I'm shoving it through the floorboard.

I'm REALLY not needing this! Not today, not now, not this week, not this month. Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo!

ya sounds like the clutch cylinder. have fun with that. if you know how to crack open trans and work on them its just a weekend job not to hard if not....well then have fun with the check book

 

damn, that sucks bro. sounds like your slave cylinder took a dump. how many miles are on your truck?

im still awaiting for my new clutch to come in ....

a slave cylinder is actually very easy to replace if you know/can remove the trans.

 

Yep sounds like my slave cylinder when it went too. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, you're looking at about a $1grand repair bill...

 

I'm at 19,949 miles.....16K miles away from eating up the warranty. I believe a 4-letter word beginning in "F" and ending if "ree" comes to mind. As soon as I'm graduated from college and can devote all my free time away towards my reptile college and my truck I believe it'll be time to start learning more stuff on how to maintain my vehicle beyond moderate work. What sucks for me and what's making me climb the walls and crawl in my skin is I get Mondays and Wednesdays off from work, suppose to be Mondays and tuesdays. But, because of my school schedule which is Monday-Friday I have no life. Sure I'm done with school and work by 5pm (8pm on Fridays), but after 5 I come home grab something to eat and it's off doing homework or studying. Thank god I only have 5 months left of this crap!

 

WTF.......dealership just called and said that if it's my clutch that it may not fall under warranty. The throwout bearing, pressure plate, and fly-wheel fall under warranty, as does the slave cylinder, but the clutch doesn't? WTF is the purpose of a 36 month/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty

UDPATE: It's the slave cylinder. BUT, the tech can't rule out the master cylinder either, so he's replacing both. All under warranty.........SWEET!

 

yup ... i woulda done it under warrenty too for ya .... did mine 2 times under warrenty due to leaky slaves. now im outta warrenty so i got fed ...

I remembered reading the warranty booklet, just don't remember clutch not being covered. I would have re-read it had my spiffy little 'black book' not accompanied my truck to the dealership.
