How much is a 8.8 worth?
Ok, I have been emailing a dude that has an 8.8 axle from a 5.0 explorer. He says it has 4.11 gears and posi trac. Is it worth $150? That is what he wants for it if I remove it. I just sent him an email asking how many miles are on it. If I go look at it, anything I should pay special attention to?

Torsion bars started in 95 also. 94 was the last year of the gen 1 explorer. The SOHC was an option on trucks in 97. you could still get the OHV all the way up to 99 or so.
If the explorer is a 5.0 then it has to be a gen 2, which means it has disks brakes. 150 is a good deal for that axle. You know that it is spring under though and your truck is spring over correct?
