Damn on the price. I got two front axles (one with an aussie) and an 8.8 with a mini spool. 4.10 gears in all 3 axles for $250.

Bad news though...I took it to my local mechanic to get all the seals replaced and he told me that It has a bad axle shaft(mind you it only has 80k on it)...So I either got to find a good one at a yard or swap the one from my current axle to the new one. < Can I even do that? How hard are the axle shafts to take out?

 

Can I get any axle shaft as long as it comes out of an 8.8? do the gears matter? Also Could I take an axle shaft out of an Explorer axle, would that be the same?? I really need to figure this out so any help would be very appreciative.

 

I dont see why you couldn't you dont change the axles if you change the gears. Like i already told you. let me know when your doing it and ill give you a hand.

 

Hey Clay.....7.5's and 8.8 28spline Ranger axles share the same axle shafts.... swap one of yours in!

 

I pulled one at a yard today. Only cost me $25 which I was very pleased about! I would have done that Shane but really didn't want to if I didn't have to. I would rather have it all ready to go so I can just swap it in their lol. Thanks for the tip though!

Josh I'm going to ask my friend when he can help me out, It'll be sometime after the 14th of may which is when summer starts for us. If he doesn't mind another set of hands over at his house to help I'll let you know!

 

I just got quoted $550 for just the axle, he says it's the only one in Wisconsin......I bet.
