Interchange question

I have a 1994 Super Cab 3.0 4X4 with a 5-spd.

What years of ranger will this tranny bolt too?
Does it have to be 4X4?

Thanks for the help.

it will bolt to any '93+ Ranger with a 3.0 in it......if the truck isn't 4wd, then you will have to put in a t-case to act as a pass through.......it would be easier if it was a 4wd truck....

BTW: that transmission is a M50D-R1.....

Thanks lifted.

So if I could find a 93-05 ranger 3.0 with a busted 5-spd that was 4X4 then I could swap it out with the one I have?

I assume the tranny is different on the larger v-6?

yea any 5 speed off a 3.0 is the same....

yes the 4.0 transmission bell housing is different, the trans itself is the same, but the bell housing is different and you cant change them on the manual transmissions.....
