Will a bronco 8.8 rear fit my truck? I'm sure it does but am just making sure.

You know the Bronco is a full size (ie full width) right?
So, sure you could bolt it in there but it will be way too wide, different bolt pattern, and no VSS.
Or, basically... No, it won't fit.

 

alright, thanks. So I need to look for a ranger 8.8 rear? or will a mustang 8.8 rear fit?

 

get an explorer 8.8 31 spline with disc breaks they are dim a dozen in junk yards

 

Mustang rear ends are too narrow and have a centered pumpkin, RBV's have offset.

 

Either a ranger 8.8 (will bolt right in but it's 28 spline and has drum brakes)
Or a 95+ Explorer 8.8 (31 spline, disc brakes, will require minor fab work - relocating spring perches and shock mounts, 1.5" wider than stock). While it is 1.5" wider than stock, the front of the ranger is 1.2" wider from the factory so it nearly evens it out.

 

Are you sure the exploder 8.8 is wider??? I've seen this swap a lot, and have never heard of that. I always thought they were the same width. No matter which way you go, a Ranger or exploder 8.8 is the way to go. I would def. opt for the exploder axle because it has larger tubes, disc brakes, and 31 spline axles. Its better in every aspect. However, if you don't have access to a welder, torch, and grinder, you may want to stick with the Ranger b/c it will bolt right in.
