I finally was able to move it out of park normally and easily when I stepped hard on the brake. otherwise It wouldn't move. Seems like an interlock issue the way it freed up suddenly. 99 automatic 4x4 V6
All advice appreciated.

 

I believe that it the way they are designed,depress brake to shift from park..

 

It's a safety thing.. you have to press the brake to get out of park
