Is this limited slip?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NR-Fo...spagenameZWDVW

If this is limited slip, i'm down for it.

Also, what does NR stand for?

will this work with my 4.10's?

is this a good deal?

Thanks

NR = New Retail
I think it'll work. 28 spline, 7.5, all matches, but let an someone else jump in to confirm it.

most supercabs should have the 8.8, even then my wifes reg cab has an 8.8 with 4.10s

dont worry though larson, you should be able to find some similarly priced LS units for the 8.8, probably easier than the 7.5 anyway

what is the differance betweend 28 splines and 31 splines or whatever? also, how involved is it to change this part out? I know the gears can be a biotch sometimes....

Actually somewhere in '03 Ford decided all Edge Plus or 3.0l Edge's get the 8.8". I guess they are both mutually inclusive, but whatever...

a 31 spline axle is a bit stronger than a 28 spline. also they are larger in diameter, givin it its strength. meanin the axle tube are wider than a regular 8.8 i believe.

There will be a metal tag on one of the diff cover bolts that will say the gear ratio and ring gear size

example 8 8 4 10 LS

The axle tubes are thicker than a 28 spline. 31 splines are alot stronger.

Around 30% stronger.

28" and 31" splines are exactly that, more splines making the overall diameter bigger and stronger.

Here's some more info on the Ranger rear axles:
TRS - Ford Ranger Rear Axles
It also explains the axle tag code.
