Limited Slip tp a Locler
Limited Slip to a Locler
I currently have a limited slip diff rear end. Is it just as easy and possible to put in a No-Slip locker into the rear. People are always talking about going from open diff to locked but how about limited diff to locked. Thx
Yes, they make a version for the slightly different carrier used in limited slips. Be very careful to order the correct one: the one for open rears is NOT compatible.
I've installed those and they are not bad to do at all. Just follow the directions exactly.
However, your handing in turns will have to change. You can't get on the gas to shift weight to the rear like you used to in turns because it will make it lock and then you'll break traction. They are fine and work well, but they are not a transparent drop-in for a limited slip. Not trying to discourage you, just be sure it's what you want.
It's NOT what I wanted, so I spent the extra money and banged myself up installing a new gear set and full carrier locker in a completely separate (and 31 spline heavy duty) axle and swapped it in. The price difference between the No-Slip and a full carrier replacement type locker is not so great -- but the install labor is TREMENDOUSLY different, lol!
