Violent Shake

Violent Shake
I just purchased a 2004 ranger 4x4 a few days ago and now am experiencing problems. I will try to explain the situation the best i could and would appreciate any insight into what might be happening. When i test drove the ranger it drove wonderful and was smooth as could be. I bought it and was told it would go through their shop and be inspected and such before i picked it up. After i picked it up i noticed a slight hesitation(best way to describe it) in the rear of the truck. Though nothing much of it until this morning when i got on the highway and experienced extremely violent shaking. This started occuring at about 45mpg. I seemed to me to have been coming from the rear end, becuase there was little shake in the wheel. When i stopped the truck i noticed a lot of heat coming from the left rear drum, where as the right wheel was completely cool. This seemed to me to indicate either the brake hanging up on the left hand side or a bearing. When i woul dbe driving and hit the brake hard the shaking would stop for about a minute and progressively come back. Any suggestions or ideas would be welcomed. Thanks!

Yea, I did take it back to the dealer. But i know how dealers are, and im sure they will just pick the cheapest thing and say its the tire out of balance or something that i know isnt the case and fix it, and then ill get the truck back and it will be the same and ill have to waste another few days with it in the shop.....Im not too happy about this. I hope this is just a one time issue, and that these rangers are really more reliable than this, Becsuae otherwise i love everything about the truck.
