Mysterious coolant and oil leak.

I bought this truck last year for under a grand. It had 290,000 miles and transmission that works fine without overdrive the leak is in the front of the engine like around the water pump it has a brand new radiator and I noticed the thermostat housing bolts were loose and the leak is intermittent but I am unable to locate the leak. I really love the truck and hope that its not major. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I love RED Rangers :)

All Water pumps all have a hole just under the shaft that will start to leak coolant when the pump's seal is wearing out

Looks like this: https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qim...3b09cb60c.webp

When engine is cold(and OFF) feel around for it

If its a 3.0l Vulcan engine then the front engine cover can leak coolant and maybe oil
Explained here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/2-9l-3...-cover-113799/

Thank you

Rond, thanks a bunch. I was suspecting the water pump but I felt that I should get another opinion. I know where to start looking. Glad you like the truck. I think it was a special order because it has the tremor consul complete with amp and sub woofer.
