Hi all,

I am rebuilding the engine on my father-Inlaws 83 Dually Ranger, 2.3L.
My first of many questions is what are the lifting points for the engine? I've read that it is easier to remove the engine and tranny together, just not sure where to lift it from.

TIA, Jeremy

I'm not an engine removal expert, but I have seen engines lifted by the metal intake manifold with a seatbelt with no trouble.

....Definately not the oil pan, that's for sure.

it is to be lifted by the cylinder head bolts , there should be brackets still bolted to the engine from the factory

Thanks, no brackets from the factory, but was able to utilize an intake and exhaust bolt into the head
