i bought my first truck when i was 16 a 2000 ranger of course i liked it because it had a v6 3.0 only but it had a couple need things it was 2wd with a factory 2in lift and its a stick just recently i bought a newer ranger to work out of and as i was tring to figure out what to do with my old one me and a buddy a ranger guy noticed that what they did with my ranger is put the 4x4 suspention with a two wd axle in rear and trans and up front instead of a having a coil and spindles i have tortion bars and spindles. the knockls from my friends truck bolt right up to plus i have all the monting points for the 4x4 except the transfercase crossmember so it is now th prodject to convert it over

what i need all of yalls helf for is i need to figure out what parts i need to check if i have forgoten anything and also if anyone has any idea what the electonin 4x4 switch is wired into that would be a big help thanks yall

First things first man please go slow and type clearer. I can't make out what your saying half the time. Also you have a torsion style suspension which doesn't mean you can just swap over to 4wd like that. The two frames between the two different types of cars are completely different. If you really wanted to swap to a ifs 4wd type front suspension then you would have to do some intense frame work or so I've heard. Your better off just sasing it.

What are you talking about? All you have to do is fab one bracket for the axle to bolt on too and everything else just bolts straight on. Theres like 5 members on here that have done it, its really easy just a lot of parts to find.

There are at least 3 threads covering this in the project logs section.

<jack>

I just want to know, in all seriousness; how old are you? and is English your native language?

I would seriously consider forgetting the 4x4 swap for now and spend that time learning how to communicate in the English language. Sorry, but that will take you A LOT farther in life than a 4x4 truck will...even though you can get pretty darn far with 4WD.

Well when it takes three times as long to read your sentences because you don't know how to use punctuation people aren't going to want to bother with it. Why would someone want to help a member that comes across as an *** in his posts?

I wont be mean to you, Its just broken english is kinda difficult to read. There are plenty of us who didnt get our "MOMMY AND DADDY" to buy our trucks. Just like our mommy and daddy didnt do a 4wd swap or a lift. All we ask is that if you request our help dont be a dick about it. Why would we want to help you if you were?

ok. Here is whats up. I am in the process of converting my ranger form two wheel drive to four wheel drive. I have only one hold up that is the wiring. I know the only wiring i have to deal with is in the switch for the four wheel drive. Can you help me figure out where that wiring ties into. That would be a huge help in finishing this up. Thank you

Honestly it will be so much easier and in the long run you'll be happy you did find a manual t-case. So much easier to make work and then you don't have to worry about the wiring going wrong when your out wheelin or something.

Yes a manual case is much easier for the swap, but they are harder to find and fetch a higher premium unfortunately.

To use the electric shift case it is my understanding that you'll have to trade the trucks pcm along with the entire dash harness for a stock 4x4 one. Not exactly easy.
