so i have built almost everything accept a ranger for four wheeling. a buddy of mine came to me saying he wants to build his 2WD 05 Ford Ranger with the 3.0V6. so i said sure ill help! :) I already have everything mapped out since its gonna be on pavement more than rocks im doing dana 30 front with Cherokee 3.5 or 4.5 inch coil springs and long arm up front. chevy 63" leafs with double shackle in the rear. ford 8.8 31spline with disks out of an explorer . 4.56 gears and 35s. for steering i was gonna make my own steering shaft and use a toyota IFS steering box and stock cherokee y steering. Now i have no problem buildin it my only question is i will also have to convert it to 4wd. so my questions are.... will the trans and transfer case from a 4.0L V6 bolt up to the 3.0L? if so could i use trans and transfer case from a explorer with the 4.0L V6? since 4wd explorers are way more common in the junk yard. and what year range am i looking at for a 4wd tranny and transfer case. for example what years are compatiable with an 05 3.0L? any and all info would be much appreciated thank you
