OP has a 3.0....they never put an 8.8 behind a 3.0. And I did check the chart after he posted the door sticker code. I'd like to see the axle tag.

If he really does 3.45 gears, he'll see a very good jump in 'fun' with a 3.73 rear end.

4.56 you mean? Super uber rare, so rare in fact nobody's come up with pictures of one.

yes, sorry, 4.56. I agree though, i he were to put the 3.73's in, from 3.55's, it would make a noticeable difference

i know in my mustang, with a .68 5th gear, 2.73 (yes, 2.73, HORRIBLE gears for racing) and 28inch rear tires, it worked out to about 60 mph at 1500-2000 rpm

if anyone wants to do the math... i'm lazy it's my first day off in 6 days

The stang probably has the power to keep it going at such low rpms at high speeds too. A 3.0, does not. lol.

I learned something....3.55 = 8.8. 3.45 = 7.5.

If the OP's truck has 3.45's or even 3.55, 4.30 is going to be WAY overkill unless he puts on 31's minimum.

ahhhhhhhhhhh that makes sense, i have always wondered about minute differences, 1 tooth difference would be more than .10 i knew a guy who had 4.11's in his mustang (yes 4.11's) where as everyone else had 4.10, 3.73's, 3.55's 3.25? and 2.73's then you get the occasional guy who goes overboard and gets like a 4.7 something

Im one of those crazys with 4.88's. lol. Yeah...some brands have different gearsets...I don't know how they figure that....but Yukon is a brand that doesn't have a 4.10, but a 4.11. But mathmatically, idk what would give just a .01 difference.

I've got buddys who have their drag cars setup for 1/8 mile.....they run 4.56 or even 4.88 gears. It's all about that low end grunt in a short distance.

i was running a malibu, turbo 350 trans, 350 motor making about 400 hp, our class was speed limited to 12 seconds, and at the top end of the track, we were at redline, or past (3 speed) with 4.10, 4.88's is just we todd did i think the 4.11 would be a slight difference in the size of the ring gear, if it were an 8.9 inch diff for instance... or thicker teeth on the pinion maybe?

Pretty sure the Goat has upwards of 33" ET streets and a 700R4 that he locks out of 4th when on the strip. I think he's pulling upwards of 8 grand on the rpms. Darn those high revving 327's. He's gone through more than his fair share of bent valves. lol.

after many searches the tire size im looking for to get is 3312.50 15
so 4.30 would work ?......

i know its a old thread lol but i really want my truck up
