Overdrive problem

I need help guys. I just returned from Texas and lost OD halfway home.
First, the trans starts to shift repeatedly from drive to OD every 5 seconds then it remains in drive and the OD light starts flashing. What's the problem? Please tell me this isn't going to cost 2k to repair.

The flashing OD light means that you have a transmission code stored in the PCM. Get it read at a dealer or auto parts store and you will have a direction to follow.
