play in clutch pedal

I just had my truck at the dealer for the rear main seal replacement and front pinion seal.

I was half way home when i put the clutch in and suddenly there was alot of play. The first 3 inches or so of clutch travel is like a wet noodle. any ideas ? maybe its something simple i can do ? I need my truck to get to work so its annoying to have it in the shop again.

Sounds like either the hydraulic clutch needs to be bled and/or the slave cylinder went belly up.

Bleed it. Then go from there. Bob, as always, is 100% correct.

I looked in the book and went outside to find the valve to drain it . I Think i found it on the front left side of the tranny up twards the top of it . i saw the little dust cap which wasn't on . under that there is a hose coming into the tranny , is that the hydraulic line for the clutch ? the line is leaking fluid where it goes in the tranny and the little plastic thing is cracked . the split is very straight i can't tell if its supposed to be cracked or not but when i move it around a little fluid comes out.the book didn't have a picture so i'm not sure if thats the clutch housing or what i could be looking at the wrong thing.

The truck has been sitting since i drove it home from the dealer sat morning . I went to start the truck today and the clutch is totaly gone . It won't go into any gear and it has no resistance . i just want to make sure it gets fixed right .

sounds like the dealer messed something up or the slave conveniently died right after you had it in the shop
