Really rough running 2.3

I bought this 93 splash I couple months back and have been slowly working on it and dailying it

it had a rough Idle (nothing major but misfiring, would go away by 2k rpms and was smooth after) and I wanted to fix it, I put a new o2 sensor in it after getting a 172 code driving up a mountain

i drove it after the o2 sensor and it seemed the exact same as before

i went to clean the IAC and throttle body, the throttle body got gunked up and would barely close, I took the shaft out and the seals and o rings where shot, couldnt find a rebuild kit so I went hunting for a throttle body, turns out no one carries new ones, I pulled one off a 97 ranger at a junkyard, swapped my sensors onto it, and slapped it back in, popped off the valve cover to see how shes looking, then reset the computer and, now it runs really rough, surging and misfiring at idle (well as close as it’ll get to idle, like 1-1.1k), sounds like a rattle from the valve trainish area at 1.5k rpms, and doesnt rattle or misfire at 2k but still isnt quite running right, any feedback or ideas would be greatly appreciated

also one difference I noticed between the 2 throttle bodies is the 97s PCV hose inlet is at a different angle, I tried to make a different hose work but its too kinked, Im not sure how this would affect how its running but its probably not doing it any favors currently

How many miles? auto?
Take a vacuum reading while idling. compression check? (but you've been driving it)
Rattling around the valve train? Search in the 2.3 section for symptoms.
Would an experimental load of 5W-40 quiet it down? Are there busted pieces of guide in the oil pan?
Does the oil look abused/neglected?

Throttle body like this? https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ttle+body,6472

Check for vacuum leaks and intake leaks after the MAF, MAF cleanliness and operation,

Its (1?)85,000 miles
5 speed manual
rattle developed after I put the other throttle body in had some rattle here and there before but nothing often at all, only notice it if it was sitting for a week or 2 then cleared up within a few minutes, other than that she was pretty quiet

I could probably sneak the oil pan out past the I beams and crossmember but Im not sure if its that bad yet, l had the valve cover off while I had the TB off just to get an idea of how shes doing, I saw nothing out of the or
