shifter *****

I looked around to find i forum to place this in, and since shifters have to do with transmissions, i thought this would prolly be the place to post this. My dad has an old t-handle hurst shifter **** that he took out of his '69 Camaro, and i want to put it onto my shifter. Problem: how do i go about getting the stock **** off, and would it fit? any help will do, thanks.

The stock **** is just glued on, while a Hurst **** is threaded. Its not a direct swap by any means, unfortunately, and I can't see any easy way to do it.

i have been wanting to do something like this as well and i think the only way may be to somehow glue the hurst handle on which im a little wary of doing at this point

U can always go out with style and get a hurst shift lever assembly from Jegs. Reduces shift length and looks pretty? Ill take it. Plus i can bolt on that T-handle right on to it. Only about $210 shipped to you.
