Slow leak rear differential

I just purchased a 2004 ford ranger xlt 4x4 it sat for a long time and has some pretty good
rust underneath. My differential has a slow
leak. When I say slow when I park the truck for
the day at work about a drop is on the concrete when I get back after an 8 hour shitf. But the differential is stained and there’s always a little fluid on the bottom of it. I havnt noticed any problems or noises coming from it and it shifts and drives great. My question is, is this something that is time
sensitive and should I get it to the shop right away to get the seals replaced? I will include a pic. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Open the filler plug and check the fluid level (it should be level with the fill plug). If you keep the oil level correct it's not something I would be super concerned getting repaired asap but definitely something you need to keep an eye on. If the fluid drops too low it could cause serious damage and cost you a fortune.

Looks like a slow leak from the pinion seal. At that rate I'd be inclined to ignore it for now, but if it gets worse or you have a great time and place to do the job, it would certainly be worthy of attention. The seal is cheap, but it's a fair bit of work to do it correctly.

I’ll have to check it when I get out of work tonight, thank you for your fast response. Looks like new seals this winter
