He used the biggest axles in the world too.

Did you search man? I have a 50+ page buildup called "solid axle swap progress thread"

In the suspension section...

Yah, cause d44s are massive axles

He did a very clean install. Not everyone needs Rockwells to offroad. Jeep axles are pretty tough anyways.

It's a d30 man.

A d44 is ALOT stronger than a d30.

d60/rockwells are even stronger buddy.

The white ranger has the best LOOKING SAS>

A VERY clean simple coil sprung axle. Doesn't matter that it is d30. One thing i've noticed is you/gildo/etc ***** about d30s, but the ranger guys aren't breaking ****. I personally wouldn't swap a d30, but I also don't see em blowing up all over. I jus like the white ranger because when i see it I dont think "holy **** thats a cluster**** of difficulty!".

Howabout I put it this way?

d44 axle > d30

White SAS ranger > others

one thing ive learned is dont build it weak if you want to wheel.

ive seen jey's truck in person, not the white one, but i think id rather have something beefier like jey's truck.

looks dont get ya home... trust me.

Nice observation, considering, I have yet to "diss" anyone's SAS/fabwork/design. The only thing I negatively comment on is the axle.

BUT, it seems like people on this site are really fawking ignorant when it comes to how much a peice of **** a d30 really is. I KNOW for a fact my d44 will break with my 42's, thats why i'm getting rockwells.

Jeys Truck is by far the best fabwork I have seen as far as SAS goes.

According to most Jeep people on varies Jeep forums a stock Jeep D30 is only good for 35's if you don't wheel and 33's if you are a hard core wheeler.

Don't get me wrong I like the white truck too. Coil springs are cool.

I am just saying if i was to do a SAS which well maybe one day. I would not no way put a D30 on mine. I am not even sure I would put a D44 on mine.

I purposedly picked that white truck for looks.

It's the cleanest BEST LOOKING SAS. When I see coil sprung SAS the usual thing i think is "Holy **** i couldnt do that". I think the white ranger is a great inspiration. Makes it seem not that hard.

Coil springs, they get er done. Leaf springs don't like articulation as much as coil springs.

And I don't see why Jey keeps sayin d30s are bad, none of hte d30 rangers have blown up. i'm not puttin a d30 in myself.

Leaf sprung D30 for simplicity.

Coil sprung D30 for max articulation and a smoother ride.

Oh and I know many hard wheeled jeeps with d30s running 37s and lockers frontback. While not the smartest, they're usually not rock crawling. And too cheap to upgrade of course!

i dont care really....all in all..if u do a SAS....i tip my hats off for ya...thankfully i already have it from the factory but to me...jey has the best beefier setup. the white one...has the "pretty boy setup" jesse and ryan...they still are not done with there so i cant comment although i have seen ryans turck in person and i like it. but there ya go theres my 2 cents

My leafs flex just as good as a decent coil-setup. It's coilovers that are far superior to leafs. To get decent flex out of a coil-setup you usually drop the coil about 3-4" off of the upper bucket unless you hard mount it top and bottom, which stretches the spring out and can affect its spring-rate and longevity.
