Emergency...HELP!!!
Didn't have time to search the threads, so please bare with me. My truck sat for a week while I was on vacation. I got in today and drove it to work (about 15 miles) with no problem. On the way home it was hesitating very badly. The check engine light came on when I was around 1 mile from my house. This isn't that odd because ever since my MAF sensor took a hit while wheeling this happens....occasionally. Now, I cleared the check engine light the usual way (disconnect the battery and give it a chance to clear) the truck runs fine, but now I have no gear above 1st. I can manually shift it into 2nd but that's it. No 3rd, 4th, or 5th. I've tried all that I know and am begging for help. This is my daily driver and I have work in the morning. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Or it may be that the MAF has finally given up completely.
The only way to narrow it down and reduce the guesswork is to get the codes pulled.

Should be getting the parts either today or Friday, whenever the money for them comes through. It's only two screws for the TPS, so if my camera agrees with me I'll make a little How-To for the fellas. The TPS itself is ~$55.00. Don't get ripped off, if you have a 6mm socket to remove the throttle body cover and a phillips screw driver anybody can change out the TPS. Clearing the code from the computer may be the only thing you would need a mechanic for.

once it is installed and you reset the computer (because you already disconnected the ground when working on this part) won't the code clear out on it's own?
