Swapping 7.5 brakes to 8.8?

So I bought a complete rear axle from a 2003 ranger 4x4 4.0. It has 4.10 ratio with LSD. My question is can I use my backing plates, drums etc from my 7.5 and put them on the 8.8. Reason is my truck is a 2008 and everything is still like new. The drums wheel cylinders etc on the 8.8 axle look pretty rusty. Thanks for any help on this.

Cheers
Paul

You can, but they may be the smaller drums if it matters to you.

Thats great. thanks guys.
So all I have to do is strip the new axle of all the backing plates, lines etc and put my stuff on. Do i have to swap the axle's? Anybody have a write up on this procedure?

Cheers
Paul
