TooK a Stick To the CV BOOT !!

Well as the title states I was out wheeling with a couple of my buddies and I had a stick hang up and spear through my CV Boot. I was just getting back to the pavement when I noticed that the steering was a little stiff. So my first thought was that I was stuck in four wheel drive and after a couple mins of reversing and going forward to try to get it out of 4 wheel drive i thought. I got out and took a look and saw the stick punctured through the boot and I had lost alot of grease.

My question is how hard is it to replace a CV boot? Or would it be easier to replace the whole axle assembly?

How many miles are on the cv axle? If it's the inner boot then you may as well replace the axle if it has a bunch of miles on it. They're not that expensive and you'd have the old one out anyways.

Good to hear you got it fixed. Makes sense to do the whole thing at that price!
