Tranny fluid and filter change

I searched and found info that said if the fluid hasn't been flushed regularly that it might be a bad idea to do it. I bought the truck with 90k on it. It now has 120. Im not sure if it has been flushed before or not. The tranny is starting to slip and i was thinking about dropping the pan and changing the filter since a full flush doesnt sound like a good idea. What i want to know though is changing the filter and stuff just as risky?

If its starting to slip the fluid probably is not the fix.If the trans is in need of repair new fluid may make it worse. But if eveything is working right there should be no problem repalcing the fluid.

If its already slipping you don't want to change it. All the little metal shavings that are between the gears will flush out making it slip even worse. Start looking for a low mile junkyard tranny now.
