ive been snooping around here for some time trying to find out whats wrong with my 95 xlt 2wd she shifts pretty hard into third gear its got the 4.0 and it an auto with 163xxx mi so im kinda stumped because when i changed the tranny fluid there was metal but i dont really want to do any thing as far as pulling it

Grind into 3rd? Or what do you mean by hard??

 

its not a grind but like the trans lets go and lets the engine rev higher and then drops into gear there is no bad sounds its just unnerving that i don't know whats the deal i believe that it shouldn't be that way

 

Not sure but I think that sounds like the infamous 2-3 flare.
