Transmission replacment question
Transmission replacment question
Do you guys think a tranny replacment is something that could be done in a garage/driveway without a lift or anything like that? Have some mechanical knowledge and my brother who is a mechanic would be helping out.
I found a 1990 Bronco 2 for 600 bucks but it needs a trans.
**EDIT** They dropped it down to 400 bucks, trying to get a little more info on it right now.

a tranny can be pulled in a driveway, I've helped with a few, you're gonna need a few jacks/jack stands though.. and it may be tricky to fit the trans between the bottom of the truck and the driveway so you may need a way to lift a side of the truck to slide it out/new one in.. hence the multiple jacks.
well weve got plenty of small hillsides to pull onto and also a kind of a ditch that i use to pull over top of for oil changes and stuff. That and Ive got a set of ramps too if they would be high enough.
