get good ujoints, like the brute force at autozone. permanently greased and much stronger, probably only about $15 each

To make it easier rent a u-joint press from autozone. Less use of a hammer.

grab the driveshaft close to the joint, and try and push it up down and side to side, if it moves at all the u-joints are worn out.

you will get noise and vibrations with bad u joints, you will not have any missing or studdering with a bad u joint, and unless you own a older chevy NEVER use a torch on your driveshaft!!!!!

After OffRoading my Jeep for almost 8 years.... there is one thing that you dont want to go CHEAP is with the U joints.... Generally most of the local autoparts store only stock less than premium U joints.... My suggestion would be to purchase SPICER U joints... You will be glad you did !!!!
Contact drivetrain direct...www.drivetraindirect.com
They will drop ship to your house.....and their prices are quite good...

I love my spicer u-joints. I bought them from my local auto mechanic shop for like $18 a piece. They have zerk fittings so you can regrease them and it will extend their life ALOT.
