U-Joints

U-Joints

Well a while back i noticed that in first gear that my truck would miss, or stutter and i couldnt figure out why. well i figured out today that it is the u-joints. how much should i expect to pay to get this fixed?

do it yourself you can replace both U-joints for under $40 just takes a couple of hours. and your done. just remeber to greese then offten so this doesnt happen for a while

get good ujoints, like the brute force at autozone. permanently greased and much stronger, probably only about $15 each

To make it easier rent a u-joint press from autozone. Less use of a hammer.

u-joints dont do that. lol or i dont think so..

they usually squeak. but what do i know.

grab the driveshaft close to the joint, and try and push it up down and side to side, if it moves at all the u-joints are worn out.

After OffRoading my Jeep for almost 8 years.... there is one thing that you dont want to go CHEAP is with the U joints.... Generally most of the local autoparts store only stock less than premium U joints.... My suggestion would be to purchase SPICER U joints... You will be glad you did !!!!

I love my spicer u-joints. I bought them from my local auto mechanic shop for like $18 a piece. They have zerk fittings so you can regrease them and it will extend their life ALOT.
