want to get rid of 7.5 for 8.8
want to get rid of 7.5 for 8.8
I have a 1992 Ranger with the 7.5 3.73 option  I am looking for an 8.8 and was wondering what vehicle has the 8.8 that bolts in using the same leaf spring mounts. I was told a newer ranger has an 8.8 axle that would work. is this true. Sorry for stupid question. But I haven't messed with trucks in over 8 years.
i think it will all mount up the same way..
ive got an explorer 8.8 im swappin under my truck which is an 8.8 now so Hal ill contact you when it comes time to sell and since your like 10 mins away it will work out great
but i gotta get alot of stuff for it so ill let you know

ANY RANGER WITH A 8.8 you can take out and put in yours, the only thing you will need is the rear fladge on the driveshaft from the 8.8 and get a new rear u-joint and put that flange on and it will bolt to the 8.8. other then that your golden. the Tag on the rear end will say if its 3.73 or 4.10 or Limited slip look for a Limited slip axle for that 5.0L... and 4.10 would give you more pep out of the hole but 3.73 with probly yeld more traction
