what are all the parts i need for differential gear replacement?

so i have decided to upgrade from my 3.08's to the 3.73's after talking a bit on here. im having a family friend who works on cars put them in for me but i was wondering what all do i need. like i know i need the ring/pinion but would i need just the master install kit or the minimum install kit or what. im looking to buy them from the shop on TRS. havnt found much cheaper anywhere else (Ford 7.5 & 8.8 Inch Ring & Pinions at TRS Fab & Off-Road) if anyone knows what i should need or has any other websites i should look at, that would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Being that the truck is that old, I would recommend a full master install kit. Better yet, and axle overhaul kit that comes with new seals and everything as well. Might as well do it while you are in there.

Check out diffsonly.com, email them and ask what they can do for pricing. I just saved over $400 on parts I ordered from them compared to Randy's Ring and Pinion.

i would recomend going to a junkyard and getting a replacement axle with the 3.73 gears in it already because they are very common.. this should only cost around 100-150 dollars. re-geariing will be double or triple that amout
