If it's an Ex cab, I believe it is behind the drivers side jump seat. Single cab, I have no idea.

I'm not sure about online, but I know you can get it special ordered from a local parts store. I have heard that it is upwards of $400, even closer to $500.

I doubt your 4wd control module theory.

Based on.

Module Controlled Functions

The multifunction modules consist of the following:

l generic electronic module (GEM)/central timer module (CTM)

l remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (15K602)

The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module controls the keyless entry, and computer operated locks systems.

The GEM/CTM controls the following features:

l wiper/washer (front/rear)

l warning chime

l battery saver

l illuminated entry and courtesy lamps

l driver one touch down power window (GEM only)

l accessory delay

l 4 wheel drive (GEM only)
Being that you have a 98 and PVH hubs. Im willing to bet the hubs are your problem. Or a shift motor. Try this https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ead.php?t=9211

The GEM is located next to the radio on the left.

module

All I get when I switch to 4hi or 4 low is both lights flashing on the dash. I got under the truck and the shift motor does nothing upon flipping the 4x4 switch. I ordered a new t. case motor from Summit racing. As soon as that comes ill try that. If not that then what? I assume all i have to do is install the new t. case motor. just bolt it on right? any adjustments needed first? I just bought the truck for my son a week ago. The guy told me everything worked. yeh right!!!!!

Flashing lights mean the shift motor is stuck in between shifts.

It can be cleaned. Some have had good results with that. YMMV

Fixed it!! Well Almost!!

Got the new shift motor today. installed it and it worked!!! But problem is that my vaccum hubs are crapped out so I did the " little fix" and removed that little silver clip from the hubs. My 4x4 works I have locked hubs for about 3 weeks until the AVM hubs come in. I hope locked hubs don't cause any problems! So my problem was 2 fold!!! Thanks for the help all
