I would recommend spending the $15 a bolt. Save up for it if you have to. You definitely don't want to skimp and save a few pennies, just to have your axle drop off the bottom of your truck while you're motoring down the highway...
Try going to a Tractor Supply store, or a Semi-truck place. Usually if you give them the specs, they can custom fab you up a set for cheap. A guy I work with got a set bent up for his heep, and it came to $30 for the set.
$15 ea is pretty reasonable actually. Generally, around here, $20 a u-bolt is the norm. And here, I get 'em made for me....then again, i do go bigger in stud diameter as well. none of this stock 7/16" junk.
Check online stores.....check LMC truck in their F150/Bronco catalog. I'm sure $15 ea is very comparable.

You shouldnt use them. When you tighten down a Ubolt you litteraly stretch them. You shouldnt reuse them because of this. They have been stretched once. Quite being a cheap skate and do it right the first time. 60 dollars is worth your life and the people you share the road with. If you cant afford to do a project the correct way then you need to wait till you can afford to.
go to Napa.
the ones for my front axle were between 10 and 15 a piece i think? idk.. you can tell them the diameter of the tube, and how long you want them, then the style of u-bolt.. and they can get it.

I had them made for a trailer once at this place called "Fulton Spring Company"... They basically just specialized in doing the suspension and maintance on big rigs trailers... they made them for me on the spot for 2 bucks a pop... I felt like I was actually working with an american company... It was a NICE CHANGE. :)
